What I love about these biweekly challenges from Karin Jurick is that I would never have otherwise considered painting this but found that I really enjoyed playing with the colors. I did a lot of experimenting with this one and in the end was happy with the results.

One of my favorites! Great "push" of color and successful addition of the strong light source not precent in the photo. All come together for a very strong piece!

Your paintings stand out not only for good shapes, & composition but especially for your color choices. The complementary colors give punch to your paintings. Beautiful.
In some recent posts you were trying to work out how to photograph your paintings successfully. Here is what I have found to be successful. To get a good photo of your painting, take pic w/o flash with painting on the floor in good daylight by a door or window. Preferably on a sunny day-without direct sunlight on the painting. Be sure no shadows fall on your painting including your own. Then shoot it from directly centered above it. Use the markings on the LCD or viewfinder on camera to make sure your pic is centered to keep from skewing the painting. Daylight, no flash, shooting from above produces good pics w/o hot spots or light reflections for me. Any questions, email me. Let me know if this gives you better success.
